Children of North Hart Elementary
Children of North Hart Elementary
Hartwell & Hart County community service is our primary goal. At the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell, we strive to fulfill the Kiwanis vision of changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Through the participation of our members, we've helped to educate our children, support our community, and establish ourselves as the premier service organization in the City of Hartwell. Here on our web site, you can find out about how we're working to accomplish this mission and why, at Kiwanis, our motto is, "We Build!"     Over the years, we've had numerous community service projects: -1.   Sponsoring and participating in Reading is Fun(RIF) programs at the three elementary schools dispersing 4000 books to kids annually; -2.   Annually sponsoring  Boy Scout Troop #33 & they in turn help us with our annual Challenge of the Centuries Bicycle ride; -3.   Annual fund raising for Northeast Georgia Council of Boy Scouts of America; -4.   Building a Children's Playscape for the Hart County Botanical Gardens.-5   Building completed  in August 2007 of the Childrens Ampitheatre for the Hart County  Botanical Garden.-6.  Annnual Lake Hartwell clean-up;-7.  Annual Roadside cleanup.-8  Annual staffing at the concession stand for one Hart County High School football game, with all proceeds to Athletic Booster Club.-9  Annual support to Salvation Army bell ringing fund raiser.-10  Assist in annual health screening of children by health department.-11  NEW PROJECT:  ANNUALLY  FUND ONE HUNDRED CHILDREN  WITH THE FERST FOUNDATION LITERACY PROGRAM AT A COST OF $4200.
